Sleep apnea and snoring

One of the main focuses of Dr. Tara Esmeili's practice is the oral appliance therapy of obstructive sleep apnea. Dr. Esmeili is a memeber of American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and has extensive experience in this area.

Based on the 2006 guideline of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, oral appliances can be used as the first line of therapy for treatment of mild to mederate obstructive sleep apnea as well as snoring.

We work closely with patients and their physicians to provide the oral appliance therapy for the OSA patients as well as those whose main complaint is primary snoring.

We use the highest quality appliances in our practice such as Somnodent and Suad appliance.

Oral medicine

After completing her dental school, Dr. Tara Esmeili also completed a 2-year advanced fellowship training in oral medicine at the Univeristy of California , San Francisco, one of the pioneers in the field of oral medicine internationally. After receiving her certificate in oral medicine

American Academy of Oral Medicine defines Oral Medicine as an area of dentistry “concerned with the oral health care of medically complex patients and with the diagnosis and non-surgical management of medically-related disorders or conditions affecting the oral and maxillofacial region”.

Our oral medicine services include diagnosis and treatment of soft tissue oral lesions that may be related to your general health. We also provide pre-radiation consults for head and neck cancer patients referred by their oncologist as well as management of their oral health throughout the radiation/chemotherapy treatment
